Plextor Convert PX-M402U

I'm thinking about getting one of these:

Is anyone currently using one? I'm wondering if there are any gotchas that come with using it with sage?

I'd be using it for mpeg2 encoding mainly. I'd be interested in finding out if there is any sort of tweaking software (like the hauppauge one) that you can use with it. In particular I'd want to tweak the audio volume to get it in line with my other capture devices.

I use one and like it quite a bit, though if you're not going to use its Divx Hardware encode you may want to look at cheaper solutions since that is its main draw. I also sometimes have problems with recording to it after power outtages etc, where the device doesn't initialize properly and you have to run its config utility (plextors gocap) to reset it.

I'm using one and haven't had any issues with my system or sage. I'm actually thinking of getting another one as well.

Thanks for the positive feedback

xred, I know what you mean about looking for cheaper options if I won't using the divx hardware encoding. I haven't yet found a usb mpeg2 capture card that has an s-video input but without a tv tuner. All the standard usb capture cards that come with tv tuner included are a bit more expensive than this model. If anyone knows of decent cheap mpeg2 usb capture card / encoder without tv-tuner then let me know.

Going back to the plextor, how about the tweakability of capture settings, e.g. increasing or lowering audio volume? Is this possible?
