I noticed Sleep timer didnt import correctly with V6 unless I have to add the menu manually with dynamic menus.

Is anyone else having problems playing any MP3s after installing this with Version 6.0.19? SageTV crashes everytime I try to play a song. And it worked prior to installing this add-on (well it worked at some point... and this is the only thing I can think of that I changed.)

Nope, MP3s play fine for me on 6.019. I'm using SageMC6.3.2 and have both of Dirk's sleep timers installed, the normal sleep timer and the autosleep plugin installed.

Just loaded this stvi (v1.1) and can't find the Sleep Timer anywhere in the options menu. Did I miss something in the import?

edit: only plugins entry I found in .properties is "plugins/df/debug_level=0" I may try re-importing again. It does show up in the list in dynamic menus however.

edit2: nevermind. it's all there now.

I wasnt able to sleep at night ever since I've upgraded to SageMC. Then, I realized why! I miss my sleep timer. Dirk, could you please, PLEASE make this SageMC friendly? I've used this addon pretty much every night since its been out.

Um, both of Dirk's sleep timers, this one, and the autosleep timer, are SageMC friendly.

I've used the original sleep timer for a long time in SageMC, and converted over to the autosleep timer when Dirk released that one. The autosleep timer is for SageMC use only.

Jack thanks for replying back. With the sleep timer, I remember it would integrate itself into the original SageTV STV under a couple of different specifi menus. Where will these timers integrate themselves in SageMC... since the SageMC menus are completely different?

Its been a while since I used the sleep timer, but IIRC, the default access to the sleep timer in SageMC is in the Options pop-up while watching a show.

I also setup a custom menu link to the Sleep Timer screen so that I could access it from the Main Menu.

I now use the autosleep timer that automatically puts my client to sleep in 2 hours if it hasn't seen certain button presses on the remote.

Dirk, if its not too difficult, can you tell me how to bind "Custom 3" send message to this plugin? I'd love to use the sleep button on my TV remote

Hi Michael,

this is not possible without messing around in Studio. If you don't mind doing that, replace the "Movies" menu with the "SleepTimer" menu in both menu themes (see attached pics)

Thanks Dirk! It worked like a charm! All my remote control buttons are now functional!

I associated Custom3 with the Sleep Timer. Very cool. Maybe you might consider integrating Sleep Timer into SageMC with menu options to map to Custom1, 2, 3...

PS: I think you just also taught me a very valuable skill... mapping any menu to a my remote control buttons!

Well I finally got my HTPC rebuilt but for some reason I can't get the SleepTimer menu to appear after I install it.

I am only using the default UI (SageTV3.xml) which updates to SageTV3-1.xml after loading the SleepTimer file. I rename the SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\sleep_timer_1_1.xml to *.STVi so that I can get it to import but no luck after that.

In my sage.properties file, I can find the lines

plugins\df\SleepTimer\sleep_timer_interval=1
plugins\df\SleepTimer\sleep_times=15,30,60,90

but those are the only two that result from a "sleeptimer" search in a text file.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have tried this in both the latest release and latest beta with the same result.

I dont think I have gotten it to work with any of the V6 releases with the default stv, it works fine with SageMC though. Something must have changed and noone has reported it so it can be fixed??

Bumping with the hope that we might be able to get this coded for the default STV. Or even a request to get it included as part of the software package itself. WAF is rising on the Sage box with the final frontier of "TV-abandonment" being the availability of a functioning sleep timer...

I have a bit of programming knowledge myself... are these things very hard to write?

I know, I've been trying to convince dirk to make this part of the SageMC STV. This little addon is irreplaceable for me. I have a sleep button on my SageTV remote now

It already was coded for the default STV, you just needed to rename the file to .stvi. However here's a modded version that adds in the ability to import into the default STV version 6.1 and 6.2.

As per usual Dirk, if you would like this removed, let me know.

John

John, THANK YOU THANK YOU for coding this to work in the default STV. I installed it on the weekend and it works like a dream!
