Hauppauge remote with an Irman receiver?

I would like to use a spare Hauppauge 45 button remote on my sage client pc. I don't have an infrared receiver for it though.
If I pickup Irman receiver (or something similar), can I configure it to work with the Hauppauge remote?
Can I still use the Hauppauge WinTV Remote application; or do I have to use the receivers application?

It should (might need to use lirc), you could also try http://lnx.manoweb.com/lirc/ if you're willing to go for a small adventure (it's probably the same exact thing as the irman).

The Hauppauge IR software needs to talk to its own receiver, so no you couldn't use that software.

SageTV has direct support for the USB-UIRT and the IRMan (see Appendix F in the PDF manual), so you can use any remote whose IR codes those receivers can decode, including the Hauppauge remotes. You could also use some other software if you want to control other apps w/the remote.

If you use some other type of receiver, you would have to use other software to control the receiver & send commands to SageTV.
