Sound Distortion in Sage Recordings

I apologize if this has been discussed, but I can't find it.

I have music, videos, and TV recorded on my sage box. I output to my receiver via S/PDIF, and my receiver has a dolby digital decoder. My music and movies play fine, but my sage recordings play as if the sound is too loud. Everything is distorted (sound) and I have the receiver turned way down.

My setup:

asus a8n-sli premium - using onboard sound Realtek AC 97 - ALC850
gigabyte 6600
corsair 2 gig ram
pvr500
80 OS hdd
2X250 HDD Sage
250 HDD DVD/Music

Sage 4.1.6.75
PureVideo Decoders - audio set to s/pdif

output to a SD 60 in television (Toshiba)
Connected to a Kenwood Receiver output to 5.1 speaker configuration

Suggestions?
