ISO size / filesystem layout?
I don't have the software yet but I'm doing the prep work for a diskless client. Would someone be kind enough to tell me:
- The size of the ISO - The size and structure of the filesystems. Thanks! Andy. |

The Linux version of STV will setup the partitions during the install. What kind of diskless client? Like a compact flash boot, or a Linux terminal tftp boot?

PXE boot. I know that the installer builds the partitions but I want to know how they are laid out (esp. where the Sage code is) so that I can customize the distribution. Part of it will be NFS mounted and the root partition will be in a RamDisk.
Just trying to do as much as possible beforehand. Andy. |

The ISO is 372.5 MB
It's typical gentoo install with the sagetv software under /opt/sagetv which I think is about 50 MB, but don't quote me on that. Are you going to try and use a different distro to run Sage?, I would be very interested in that, and interested in general.

I plan to start with the supplied distro and modify it for my needs. I'll break it down into 2 or 3 filesystems (suitable for NFS) and I may need to rebuild the kernel to provide CLE266 support.
I'm unsure if I'm even going to be able to make the hardware MPEG decoder work but I'm going to try. It's a project really. Time will tell..... Andy. |
