Media Extender and Anders' DVB plugin
Does anyone have the Media Extender playing back files recorded using Anders' DVB plugin? Using 4.1.9 it can't play back files recorded with Sage's beta DVB-T support (I got a pretty dusty answer from Sage when I reported this bug, too!). Just wondering if anyone had any more success with Anders' plugin? At the moment I have a nice dual DVB-T card doing nothing, which seems a shame.

I have a friend that is using my plugin with the MVP so it should work.
When using the built in DVB support do you save as TS or PS? I don't know how to change it but it should be possible and it might work in one mode and not the other. Anders |

Mahoney, I'm using this plugin with no problems on my mvp. thanks for the tip of ts vs ps anders, although i'm not sure how to change it. Truth is, I'm happy enough using your plugin to wait patiently for the sage dvb-t goodness to arrive to my mvp.

OK, that's good to know. Do you know what version of Sage they are running? What confuses me is that I thought that with a DVB recording you just get whatever the card is receiving; so why would the MVP not be able to play it? And if it can't play it, why would it be able to play it if recorded via your plugin?
I have the following property in Sage.properties: mmc/encode_digital_tv_as_program_stream=true I presume that means Sage is recording to a program stream. I wonder if there's a bit of software that might be able to show me what the header is for the files... then I might be able to get a handle on what it is that is throwing the MVP. |

When you save to TS the stream from the air is saved as it is but with just the infromation for one channel. When you save to PS the data is repackaged and saved in a different format. The actual video and audio is not changed but the packages is.
It sounds as the MVP can't play TS streams. If the repackaged PS is playable might depend on how it is done. In my plugin you must provide a filter to use and I have reports of it working with the Cyberlink filter. Anders |
