IR blaster setup (it's diff. than the picture!)

Having lost the manual for my PVR-150, I can't figure out how to get the IR blaster setup with my Cable box (motorola DCT2224).

Here's the problem: everywhere I look concerning the PVR-150 has the IR-blaster and the Receiver as 2 seperate wires that plug into the card. This picture does NOT match what I have!

My receiver is connected through USB....

there are 2 spots that it looks like the blaster can plug into (labeled 1 and 2) but when I use them and run IR Blaster Config, it says "No IR hardware detected".

I have downloaded and installed all the newest drivers from Hauppauge for the 150...

Can somebody please help me get this going?
Where do I plug in the IR BLaster, and why won't it recognize the hardware?

According to your description, you do not have a PVR-150, you have a PVR-150MCE (The Media Center Kit).

The remote is a MCE2005 compatible remote. The Hauppauge IR software only works on the IR hardware built into the retail version of the PVR-150.

To get the blaster portion of the MCE tranceiverto work, you need to use external remote control software such as Girder or HIP and the ExeTuner or ExeMultiTuner plugin for SageTV.

For details on the configuration see:

Note, however, that the SMK manufactured MCE transciever that is included with the Hauppauge kit has a hardare bug - blaster port 1 does not function. Make sure you configure the software to use port 2 and things will work properly.

Wow! That's quite a hefty bug there. Yes, I have 150MCE. Just got Sage running, downloaded HIP and getting ready to install it and config a Motorola DCT-2224.

Thanks for the links!

OK after following this awesome guide:

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...s+blaster+sage

I have everything set up and working great.....except for one thing.

When I use the MCE Remote's arrow buttons in the middle, it sends 2 commands to Sage. Anyone else run in to this?

Ok, yes I found others gettings this. What is happening is you press the UP arrow on your remote, because of the MCE drivers on your computer, it presses an UP arrow send (to sage)... and because HIP is programmed to use those arrows as well, it sends an UP too. So pressing the UP arrow once results in sage getting it twice.

I have no idea what to do about this.. it seems to be screwed up with my number pad as well...

duhhhh.. ok. I just opened HIP, went to FILE>PREFERENCES>Alternate Inputs tab. Then I deleted the inputs of up,down, left, right, enter and all the numbers.

It works now. I don't know if there's a better way to fix this or if I'll be messing something up I'll need later... hope this helps anyone else w/this issue.
