SageTV and MCE together?
Is it possible to run SageTV and MCE together on the same install?

Not at the same time. You'll also need to turn off the eHome MCE services before you can use Sage so that Sage can access your TV card hardware. It's one or the other.

Are you sure it's one or the other? I would imagine that if they are setup to use different tuners then there shouldn't be a problem.

You're right-I missed that option. That would make sense. But if you have the eHome stuff running the MCE remote would tend to work the MCE stuff or at least mess up between the two programs.

I have XP MCE edition but I haven't let MCE set itself up since I turned away from the dark side and reinstalled the OS. Although I have accidentally started it a couple of times by pressing the green button and had to quit it.
Should I turn off some services? Which ones? BTW, I stopped the reomte from talking to mce by installing the hacked drivers for the remote. Presumably, you could use girder and have the remote send signals to one or the other based on which one's active or fullscreen. |

There are a couple of services you would have to disable or set to manual. Otherwise they start up every time you reboot. Search for their exact but I think they start with eh.

I did try this (MCE and Sage 4) ... but ran them separately ...
Dumped it all and went back to XP Pro and Sage 4 ... MCE was too quirky with drivers, if you even found many that worked with MCE ... I figure if I want MCE that bad ... I could use MlbDudes STV and have the best of both worlds ... |
