Sage Extender working in Europe?
Hi excuse me if this is not posted on the correct place, or has been posted before.
Im living in Norway and would love to get sagetv running on my computer and get a couple of the sage extenders. I have been looking into buying some, but have not found anyone how can handle live TV until now. So the question is like the subject is saying, can I use it with the TV system we are using in Europe? Thanks Anders |

There is a version that supports PAL so I'm pretty sure users are using this in Norway.

US is NTSC. Pal is Europe/Norway I believe.

European Pal user here (although in the Uk rather than norway). The MVP now works very well with the latest betas. There were some issues in the early releases but they're all cleared up now - bar an occasional problem with the mvp not re-connecting when you reboot the server.
Basically, all working well now |

MVP is that the one from Sage?
What you call MVP, is this from sage, or some other extender supplier?

MVP (Hauppauge Media MVP) and the SageTV Media Extender are the same thing.
Since you are in Europe, you will need to buy the Hauppauge Media MVP (PAL Version from Europe) because I don't think SageTV sell a PAL version.

Hei AndersGH
I'm Norwegian and SageTV with the Media Extender is working perfectly here in Norway with the new Beta versions. Here is a list with web shops that sell the Hauppauge MVP http://prisguide.hardware.no/friteks...p&search=S%F8k If i were you, i would wait for the new version of the wired MVP or the wireless. Don’t think they're available in Norway yet. Henrik Last edited by Henki; 04-10-2006 at 03:55 AM. |

Not much to tell yet... it hasn't been released officially yet. The only thing I know, is that they have added a SPDIF output. We just have to wait a couple of weeks I think. It is said that the wireless version is going to be out on the marked in late April, and probably the wired version too. But the will probably take some more time before we see them i shops in Norway i think.... just have to wait and see.

Ok! Thanks for the info Henki! What kind of tv card are you using, and do you have cabel tv or a satelit reciver? I have a satelitt reciver, and im a bit curious how this will work. Do you use a IR blaster to switch channel?

I'm using SageTV with old fasion cable allong with Hauppauge PVR250. I don't have any experience with IR blaster to shift channels, sorry. But I don't think it would be that hard to set up.

I'm using the Hauppauge Media MVP. I live in Belgium and it works fine. Just buy a PAL version and you're gone!
