Make mouse cursor disappear
I have Sage set to start up in full-screen when windows starts (dedicated HTPC), but when it does, I end up with a mouse cursor right in the middle of the screen. How can I get this cursor to disappear without going over to the computer and moving the mouse?

Hit the "Info" IR button. Wait a bit and ..... gone.

Any other ways to do this? I don't want the mouse to show up ever when in SageTV. It's annoying when the mouse arrow shows up while watching TV or a DVD.

I move the mouse off-screen before putting my cordless mouse aside but requires habit developement.

If you have Girder installed, You can programme it to move the cursor to the bottom right hand corner. I have a button on my remote spoof a right click through girder and it makes the mouse button appear even if it has previously timed out. It's a bit annoying.

I got frustrated after my wireless mouse would intermittently falsely trigger the cursor to move, causing the cursor to reappear or start drifting. I have no use for the mouse 99% of the time, so I used the above mentioned program and start and stop it using Run command with keyboard on the rare occasions I need the mouse. It's amazing that I can't simply disable the cursor within windows??? Anyway, it makes the cursor disappear no matter what you do. You'll need a plan to re-enable the cursor though, preferably before you disable it ![]() My little batch files on c:\...so i type in mouseon and mouseoff in run....piece of cake mouseon.bat: @echo off cd /d "C:\PROGRAMS\nomousy15\" start nomousy.exe mouseoff.bat: @echo off cd /d "C:\PROGRAMS\nomousy15\" start nomousy.exe /f -h

i read somewhere you can use blank/invisible mouse cursors under windows, you just gotta find the icon pack or whatever... I haven't tried it yet though

I read in another thread that the Gyration mouse causes the mouse cursor to appear while you're watching. Not sure if that's the same thing being complained of here.

If you almost never use the mouse, just unplug it. It'll disappear once Windows registers the USB disconnect.

Does it give an error like "Keyboard not found, hit F1 to continue"? If so, you can set the BIOS to ignore keyboard errors.

There should be a setting in the BIoS that controls that... its an easy fix.
Usually something like "Halt on Mouse error" or "Halt on Keyboard/Mouse Error" |

I had a problem with the mouse just appearing for no reason. I could hit pause and the play and it would go away only to come back a few min later. I even unplugged my USB mouse and would still have the same problem. I also had a problem with seeing a thin blue line at the bottom of my screen from the taskbar. To fix both problems I got a program called MouseandTaskbar.exe. I just have Girder issue the command to hide the mouse/task bar with MouseandTaskbar.exe. When I exit Sage via girder it just unhides them both! I am not sure if this is the best answer, but it works great for me since I use girder anyway.
