Shuts down when I go to LiveTV?

I came downstairs tonight to try and do the registry hacks to increase performance in the Hauppauge decoders - figured I'd compare PQ against Elecard with dScaler. Anyway, followed the directions and changed the value, then rebooted just to be sure (Sage was off the whole time).

Crank Sage up, switch to the Hauppauge decoder, sleep/restore, click LiveTV and.....nothing. Sage shuts down completely and disappears. Okay, try again - click LiveTV, Sage vanishes. I can buzz around in detailed setup, but as soon as I click LiveTV, I see the OSD and then it closes.

I go and replace my reg hacks back to normal, reboot, retry LiveTV, same behavior. Switch back to Elecard, sleep/restore, try LiveTV, same deal.

Somehow I believe the Hauppauge reg tweak has hammered my SageTV.

I can reinstall, but any thoughts why this is doing this?

System spec:

Sage 1.4.1.0 Trial
Abit NF7 with AMD AthlonXP 2500+ "Barton"
1GB RAM
350W Enermax Power Supply
Radeon (Powercolor) 9200SE with Cat 3.7 drivers
(1) PVR-250 wth newest drivers from SHSPVR
NVDVD 2.55, Hauppauge, and Elecard decoders
WinXP SP1 and all updates (including DX9.0b)
Standard analog cable

Thanks!

Jason

Nope, no dice. Just tried recording an SNL rerun on Comedy Central. I *think* it recorded, but as soon as I double click to play, Sage closes down completely.

Just when I start making some ground, the HTPC gods kick me square in the.....

It looks like a decoder problem. I would uninstall the Hauppauge decorder you installed and the Elecard. Reboot and install again. Then start with Elecard again to see if it works (worked before). ANother good test, would be to try and play the Sage files outside of Sage. See if you are given more error details or something.

Oh, BTW. You may have just learned a good lesson that I have still not learned Alwasy leave good enough alone .

Thanks MLB. I haven't tried my trial of Snapstream to see if that died as well, but the myHTPC TV plugin seems to work okay with the Hauppauge and/or Elecard decoders.

I'll keep goofing around and see if I can figure this out!

Thanks!
