Video freezes during forward or reverse
During playback of recorded files, if forward or reverse are pressed too rapidly in succession then I get a locked up SageTV and I then have to exit the application and restart. I have been able to error trap this myself in girder by not allow the two commands to be received in rapid succession no matter how fast the buttons are pushed. I thought I remembered in an earlier post that this was likely due to the video filters selected. If so what filters are others using that has solved this porblem. (I am using an older version of Cyberlink)

If I use the cyberlink codecs, I get the same behavior. Try the hauppauge codec.

Thanks,
That seemed to fix the problem. One other thing that I have noticed is that the picture takes on a very digital quality (that's not meant in the good sense) at times during LiveTV and playback. Before using Sage, I was recording with WinTVCap and I did not notice this very often. It usually happens during a lot of motion, which would be expected. The unexpected thing is that I seems to decreace if I reduce the recording quality. Any ideas as to why? I haven't tried the higher quality setting but that would put me in the 5-6 MBps and that would eat up HD space quickly. |
