UIRT not talking to Sage TV.....

Hello everyone!

Did some searches this afternoon to solve my problem but couldnt find a solution. Also sent a msg to support, but thought I would try here as well.

Ive got a USB-UIRT that I have been using to change the channels on my Sony SAT-A65 DirecTV box. I dont use a remote at all, just use Sage TV on the desktop and want the application to be able to change channels for me.

Everything was working great - I was running Sage TV 4.0 and some older version of the UIRT drivers. I got a new motherboard/CPU/video card combo, so I rebuilt my machine and installed WinXP new. So my UIRT drivers were downloaded yesterday, and Im now on Sage TV 4.1, downloaded yesterday as well. No older versions present.

The Sage TV startup wizard finds my Hauppauge 350, I can see video/audio preview. My problem is when I get to the 'point your remote at the UIRT and press 0 until told to stop'. When that screen comes up I take my DirectV box remote, point it right at the UIRT, press zero, watch the UIRT light come on indicating it sees the remote, and then I sit there for minutes. Lots of minutes. No reaction from Sage TV. Anyone have any ideas? Ive tried running Sage TV as a service and without - but now Im at a loss.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Mark

Make sure you're holding the remote 1-2 inches from the USB-UIRT. It has to be real close. Also make sure the USB-UIRT is plugged into a USB port on the PC and not a USB hub.

Ok, Ive done that. My new motherboard came with some additional USB ports in a card that was plugged into a slot, thats where the UIRT was plugged in. I unplugged it from there and its now plugged directly into a USB port on the motherboard. Interestingly enough when I plugged it into the other USB port it asked for the drivers again.

So now Ive rebooted and the behavior is the same. Holding the top of the remote an inch, maybe closer away from the front of the UIRT. Light comes on to say its receiving the signal - but still no response from Sage TV.

No response from support yet - but just sent them an email today.

Success!

I had posted like messages in the USB-UIRT forums, I had to reflash my UIRT. I had done that once, but doing it a second time fixed the problem.

Thanks all for your help!
