mpg files with ac3 audio
This may be a stupid question, and please don't kill me for asking! I've
read through the FAQ, searched, and read lots of different posts, but can't find the definate answer for these questions: - Does SageTV work well with the Fusion5 Gold Plus? - Does SageTV play .mpg files that have AC3 Audio? Currently I'm trialling BeyondTV. My trial for Sage ran out before I received my Fusion5 card, so I am unable to test its actual tv functionality. I asked Sage Support if it'd be possible to get a new key, and they said to re-install my OS, or to wait until the new version came out which would "reset the trial." (By the way, the new version did NOT reset the trial). :-/ I've tried Mediaportal, Meedio, gbpvr, GotAllMedia which can all "use" the fusion card, but only in a gimpy, half-the-stuff-works kind of way. For example, on other programs, it takes a LONG TIME to change from one channel to the next. Or the video or audio is choppy. With BTV, I get smooth HDTV playback, with only some weird interlacing artifacts on 1080i programming that I've learned to live with. (With the Fusion HDTV software, everything looks 100% fine.) I would like to have all of Sage's Media Library-type functions, but am afraid of dropping $100 only to find out that it doesn't play nice with my Fusion5 for Live TV. Regarding mpg files... My primary complaint against BTV is that it will not play mpg files that have ac3 soundtracks! All I get is an error message saying that "the file is corrupt or has been deleted." I have my son's DVDs all backed up to straight mpeg-2 files. (I just rip them and then mux the .m2v and .ac3 together.) To get them to play in btv, I'll have to demux, convert with besweet, and remux every single movie. :-( I'm hoping that sage will like my mpg files? Thanks in advance for the answers! |
