Music Folder Issue
Ok,
so I have been running sage for a few years and my music folder has songs from a previous shared drive which no longer exists. I have tried rescanning folders, deleting all import folders and none of this works, I keep having these old songs still showing in the music folder. Does anyone know how I can delete these old songs without deleting the whole bin file? TIA Patrick

Is the previously shared dirve a letter or network path that is no longer in use? If so: I'm not sure if this will do it, but try restoring access to such a drive letter or network path so SageTV can see that the files aren't there any more.

Nope the drive is no longer accessible (don't even recall what the drive name or letter).
Any other ideas? Patrick

DO you remember if it was mapped as a local drive letter, or as network share?
If you think it was as a local drive, then you should be able to add that drive into your system temporarily. there are a couple ways you could add in that drive letter. You could map an empty folder to that drive letter. You could use a usb flash drive and use computer management to change its drive letter to the needed drive letter. Go ahead and remap all your unused drive letters, ie: e-z, and if it was a local drive, then hopefully get a match. If it was a network share, then if the other computer exists, then you could try to map some shares to that if you were using Samba. Take an empty folder and share it with common share names that you think you could have used before. Then point Sage to all those shares and hopefully get a match. If all else fails, if you have nielm's webserver, you may be able to get it to purge out the old music. I had some phantom files that I could not get rid of and was able to go into the "media library" and was able to delete them from sages wiz.bin through that. |
