USB-UIRT and Remote Control Software Suggestions

Hello - I'm trying to find easy to use remote control software with the USB-UIRT. Are Girder and HIP the main or only ones available? The user interface on these is not overly friendly and certainly not intuitive.

Also - I was wondering if it's possible to set up the remote to move the mouse as well so that I can use other programs like IE.

Any suggestions?

I second that mouse movement question (with HIP).. although I think both girder and HIP have their own forums for those topics.

I use HIP and knew absolutely nothing about IR blasters when I started. The learning curve is a little steep, but definetely not impossible. Try reading some more in the forums and posting specific questions you have about the software. The people around here are overly helpful and will make sure you get it up and running.

K9 - is there a way to tell HIP NOT to use the SAGE program but use other programs?

One thing I tried doing was creating my own "DOWN" key in HIP for Sage and when I create my own key def, it does not work. I set it up to display the word DOWN on the screen and it displays it but it doesn't move down in Sage.

Also - is there any way to adjust the repeat delay and also the time before repeating.

Finally, it seems that sometimes when I press the UP or DOWN it's like the USB-UIRT does not respond right away.

I'll keep at it - this is the last thing I need to get working so that I can finally hook up my workstations.

K9K9 - I finally figured out how to use HIP and as it turns out it is relatively easy to do mouse movements and clicks with the remote. The only thing I'm trying to find out is if there is a way to change the delay before repeats and the repeat frequency. But, I've posted all that at the HIP forum.

great! I'll check it out. I'm still trying to untangle my thinking about Profiles with HIP. It'll probably be a project for next weekend.
