Newbie question:

I assume that these software updates also include updated software for the MVP. If that is the case and I want to update my MVP, will installing just the 4.1.14 software due, or do I also need to install the 4.1.14 client on my server box?

Thanks.

Just installing the 4.1.14 server software will do.

No need for client.

Actually, I just typed the email address for all...I guess it got edited to get rid of the active link by a mod/admin.

MP3 Playing BUG or WAD?

I am new to the MP3 scene on Sage. I started ripping my CD collection to the server and everything plays great on Sage and MVPs.

I did notice though that when I select to view by artists, go to a particular artist with only one song, it was from a compilation, and play now it will continue on to the next song in the compilation when finished.

Is this expected behavior? I was assuming it would stop playing after the song finished.

TIA

DirecTV Additions?

Does anyone have any details (or numbers) about the additional DirecTV support?

Thank-you.

I'm not sure why DVB-T support is still classified as beta.. Other than you still have to edit the frq file by hand

Can anyone tell us if this release's DVB-T files are playable through the MVP?

I know it still won't play my old recordings, but last night I couldn't get it to tune so I don't know about new recordings.

You'll also have to unplug / replug your MVP for it to get the new MVP software, once you update your server.

Well thanks to Donkey I fixed my sub-channel problem. I have 3 tuners and was only scanning the first one for channels. This did work in the past, but with the sub-channels I have to scan all three tuners. I now have working sub-channels and have the short channel name (5-1 instead of 56).

Any idea how to get guide data to show up for sub-channels?

Thanks, Chad

bazan,

Your logs show that you've run out of disk space and SageTV can't free anymore due to your settings. Check out your diskspace settings and what's on your disks to see what the problem is.

I don't know of any DirecTV PC Boards but I do use a sepparate tuner box (RCA) that is controlled via Serial Cable and is conntected to my PVR-250 via SVIDEO and audio connectors. I also use the PVR-250 tuner for over the air channels. If there is a DirecTV
Card I would be interreted in hearing about it.

Anyone getting any "ntdll.dll" related Sage crahses? I am getting these only rarely but annoying nevertheless. It seems to be associated with channel change when it does occur.

I do not generate a Sage error log for this even though error logging is set to "True".

One occured last night at 12:30:06. No one was up at that time. I do have "Always tune channel" set to "True" so I'm quite certain that a reaffirming channel change (does this even if next show is on same channel) was issued 6 seconds earlier.

The XP "Application Event Log" says this:
Faulting application sagetv.exe, version 2.0.0.1, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.1106, fault address 0x00001baa.

EDIT: In an effort to mitagate, I have set "seeker/fast_mux_switch=false" to see if this helps. It will take at least several days before I can claim anything one way or the other. All source comes from STB through S-Video; not using tuner of PVR-250. Channel change is via USB-UIRT with "zone" control with "uu_irsage.dll" plugin.

DVB-T support

DVB-T scanning part is under construction, is not done yet in 4.1.14, but the test update will be ready soon (within 2 days).

Same here (thanks Qian!). I had also had a big sub channel problem fixed in this version that was somewhat unique to my region. The personal attention was much appreciated.

peace . . .

The VOB transcoding to the MVP was working in 4.1.11 , broken in 4.1.12 , fixed in 4.1.13 , and now is out of sync with the video in 4.1.14 .

All of my VOBs appear to have a 3 to 4 second delay in the audio when being transcoded to the MVP. FF/RW will ocasionally get it in sync, but rarely.

Anyone else?

EDIT: 4.1.13 was checked again and was also out of sync
Support advised how to correct the problem by setting the property miniclient/vob_transcode_mode=DVD

VOB audio is back in sync

These guys really know their stuff.

DVB support is getting steadily worse for me. Have to tweak frequencies for some channels by + or - 166 (apparently the UK offset for some channels) but after this several won't tune that worked perfectly with SDARecorder.

Although I've not taken screenshots to compare side by side I'd swear the picture quality was significantly degraded as well. Lastly, the SageTV service crashed twice while trying to setup the DVB sources!

Thank god for SBDARecorder...will file bug report.

DVB-T users have been advised not to upgrade beyond 4.1.12 until Qian posts further. 4.1.12 still looks pretty damn good to me!

Oh, and I don't think it was god that produced SBDARecorder, unless god comes from Sweden... :P
