remote administration
Hello guys, I have small problem, when I try to connect to my computer using Remotely Anywhere I somehow cannot see Sage screen, it is all black. Is there any software that I could use to controll my home PC and be able to see SageTV screen with all the menus and not just black screen? Does anyone have the same problem? Did you figure out how to get over that? in the past Remotely Anywhere had a feature where screen was just transfered as html/image, and I was able to see everything but now even that does not work...
it is the same issue with placeshiffter. I have dual monitor and my placeshifter does work on one screen but when I drag it to second screen I get black box nothing on it... When Imove it back to the main screen I have everything back... Thanks for any ideas and help. Chris

A couple of things have come to mind here. Some applications are only able to be displayed on the "primary" monitor, which can explain the problem you have when you have a dual monitor setup. As far as not seeing it when using remote administration, I think running in FSE can sometimes cause this, but I'm not positive. (Edit, Actually, I think it has to do with using VMR9 over Overlay.)
As for your question regarding remote administration. I'm using UltraVNC, which is an open-source project. It requires server software and client software (or viewer). It's all packaged in one software installation. DO NOT install the "video driver" version, or you will still be left with a black screen (maybe there is a work around, but I was not able to find it). If you decide to go with UltraVNC, and have trouble with the settings, let me know, and I'll post some screen captures of my settings. I think it pretty much works out of the box though...

This is almost certainly because you are using overlay instead of VMR9 (not sure about FSE, but I would guess that would not allow you to see it either). If you are using FSE or overlay and don't want to move to VMR9 then you could try the web server plugin or grab a place shifter licence.

I believe I'm using VMR9, and I have no issues doing Remote Admin via UltraVNC...I'll have to double check on that though. I know for sure I'm not using FSE.
