Every Beta worked fine but v5 screwed up!

I've installed every v4 beta and used them with little to no problems. Now I installed v5 today and all of the shows I had set to record tonight are basically a black screen with that good ole sound you hear when you turn on a tv with no cable plugged in. I guess it's my fault for not making sure that live tv was still working, sucks that I missed Scrubs and Teachers

I finally sat down and was just about to watch the new episode of Teachers and much to my dismay it recorded a half hour of no picture and buzzing. It seemed like it somehow switched to the analog tuner for recording even though the setup menu still said it was recording via svideo.

Any who, rebooting didn't help so I went through the source setup again and it's back to normal. Well I'm off to start deleting a bunch of %&$@#! up recordings

My channel lineup has been screwed since 4.1.12. Everytime I try to update to a newer version of Sage channels above number 100 does not work.

I have tried upgrading and a complete clean install. Same result. Everytime I revert back to ver 4.1.12 the channels are ok again.

I can watch livetv on my placeshifter or mvp, but can not watch live TV on my server, the video is so choppy it gives me a headache. Was working great just before upgrading.

I'm having exactly the same problem as rtengvad with v 5.0.1. When I select any channel above 100 Sage TV will continue to show the current (or the latest watched) channel. When I check the channel setup and click "view" on any channel above 100 there is no reaction at all.
Reverting back to beta 4.12 solves the problem. Same problem also with beta 4.14 - will have to stay with 4.12 until this problem is solved or until anyone can advice on how to fix this problem.

Good to know Im not alone.

I did also had the problem with 4.1.14 so I went back to ver 4.1.12. Then tried with ver 5. I've done the upgrade a number of times. always the same result.

I've tried different Hauppauge drivers after inspiration og the threat http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=7642 to see if that solved the problem. Unfortunately not.

What OS are you running? I wonder if it could have something to do with my XP MCE 2005. Or could it have something to do with that fact that I upgrade from a remote connection? Just i wild guess.

I'm using Win XP Professional, not MCE. Upgrade performed locally (as always). Also, I use java ver 1.4 (1.4.2_10) since 1.5 versions always have resultet in problems with my EPG (xmltv plugin, xml-data grabbed with O2Grabber).

Can't see that I've done something wrong at all - upgraded (and have now downgraded) with the installer. I too have tried most of the betas, and I've never experienced problems like this.

The 4.1.12 beta works fine for me, I can wait for good advice or a fix.

I'm seeing this on one of my clients, stutters every few seconds or so. Was definitely NOT doing it before on the last beta.

We've found and fixed the issue regarding not tuning channels over 100 on the RF input correctly.

If you're having other problems mentioned in this thread please submit a bug report on it http://sagetv.com/bugs.html

Support sent me an updated DshowCapture.dll and it seems to have solved the problem with the channel above 100 problem.

That's a bit scary. A bug like that and after all V 4 betas were working. At least I am glad Sage acted quickly and released v5.0.2. No wonder 5.0.2 did'nt go thru the normal bata stage- it was a fix to a major bug.
