Diamond Extreme 550 PVR (Conexant)
I just downloaded the Sage TV trial. I want to try it specifically because of how it works with the Media MVP. During the setup - only one of my 2 tuners is recognized. The PVR150MCE is recognized and works. My other tuner - a Diamond Extreme PVR550 (PCI) with a Conexant chip set - is recognized but fails set up due to software encoding or something like that. The card is a hardware encoding card. This computer has Beyond TV 4 on it and both tuners work. Do I assume that this card is not supported? I have another computer that has 2 tuners (running BTV4). One of the tuners is a PVR150. So, if there is no hope for the Diamond card - I might swap the tuners and put the PVR 150 in the Sage TV computer. I was just curious to see if the Diamond card is supported. Thank you.

I have that Diamond device as well. It works fine for me. I didn't have to do anything special. I installed the drivers, plugged in the device, and I was fine from then on. I *have* had some wierdness with the tuner suddenly becoming unuseable (after the system goes to sleep?) but its like once every 2 months and always after an event of some sort.
I like the device, but the support from Diamond is non-existant (no new drivers, ever). EDIT: Actually, I just noticed that you said PCI. Mine is the USB2 version. Not sure if that makes a difference. |

make sure that it is totally unloaded from beyond tv. If somethign is trying to use the card other than Sage, you'll get that kind of error.
