V5 & USB-UIRT = No Joy

NOTE: I am not sure if this is in the right forum because I don’t know if its a problem with SageTV Software or the USB-UIRT hardware...

So, I decided to upgrade my ROCK-SOLID Sage 2.2 (Don’t laugh) to V5 last night and everything was working OK except when I decided to configure the USB-UIRT. The symptoms I am getting are varied but here is a list of what I have seen so far (These are all during the learn command phase to control the blasters, NOT to configure a remote control to use Sage) :

1) I get an error about HCWIR or something like that .dll (Windows Dialog box, not Sage)
2) I get a an error that IR capture timeout has been exceeded (Again, windows dialog box, not Sage)

After I got those two errors, I decided to uninstall sage and reinstall. Now, I get one of these two symptoms :

1) Sage displays the "press 0 on your remote" indefinitely even after I press and hold 0 on my remote
2) Sage immediately displays the "an error occurred while trying to learn the command" and gives me the option to try again.

PLEEEEEASE help guys - I was really hesitant about upgrading to this version (V5) but I like the UI so much more than the setup I had (v2.2).

Now, before anyone asks I can confirm that on the 2 most recent symptoms I have received, the light WILL flash on the USB-UIRT. The drivers for the USB-UIRT are the most recent (1.4) and I downloaded them directly from the USB-UIRT website. Also, the device I am trying to control is a D10 receiver from DirecTV.

Thank you,
Adam R

The only suggestion I have (and you may have already tried this) is to launch SageTV in regular GUI mode without the service. Then try to program your remotes to blast to your STB's.

Sorry if that doesn't work but it is something I have seen posted before when having problems learning the IR codes of STB's.

Bob - I took your advice and last night put Sage back into GUI mode and ran it. The first time the wizard ran it gave the same error as last time "An error occurred while capturing....". On a hunch I tried it again and was surprised to find that it worked. I blazed through all 10 keys to program with a huge grin on my face now that it is ACTUALLY working.

Thank you so much!
