Thanks for the HD - it's working great when it finds them!

Only question is why it's not finding the HD versions of some films that I know have them on apple's site (like marie antoinette). I haven't check manually for HD versions of every trailer, but overall I've got about 25 trailers and only 4 of them are in HD. (I'm set to HD720).

I'm sure many of the 21 don't have HD versions, but I looked specifically at marie antoinette and it does, so I'm assuming I could find at least a few others as well...

Thanks again!

How do you manually set it to HD1080?

Never mind, much easier to see in an XML editor...

Thanks everyone!

Due to how Apple designs the iTunes site, mtsa cannot find all possible trailers in all possible resolutions. I just double checked the movie you specifically mentioned and on the XML iTunes site, an HD trailer is not listed for that movie - yet it is on Apple's "main" site. Oversight by Apple? Did they not get to it yet? Not sure which.

Also, I noticed for movies like the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning", Apple spells "beginning" as missing one n on their iTunes site. So they actually misspelled the title of the movie - therefore my plug-in skips over it.

So stuff like that... it's not perfect but it should download "most" trailers. Also, most trailers will not have HD versions - but if they do, mtsa downloads it Hopefully this will change as time goes on...

Jim.

Thanks for your work on this. Very nice utility.

I assume that the configuration within SageMC needs to be updated, as a lot of the text is overwritten. Makes it hard to configure, unless you know what the text normally is supposed to be.

Noticed the new configuration file now puts posters in a "Posters" folder, instead of just the temp directory.

Thanks

Yeah...Thanks for your hard work...

I d/led the HD trailers but guess my system can't handle them...
I get that ssstttutttering.... Seems like my system should handle it but guess not.
Is there a specific codec I should run or?? I have a 2.3G/hz machine with 1G memory... Nvidia card and graohics go straight out the back to TV...no networking so no bottlenecks...

Jim,
Got what you're saying on the limitations. If only we could get Steve Jobs to read this thread, maybe we could get somewhere with the problems on their end...

Might want to try setting it to HD720 rather than HD1080. A little easier on the computer. If that still doesn't work, try setting HD480. If one or both of these lower settings work for you, it's just a horsepower thing, not a codec issue. Horsepower meaning CPU (and possibly graphics card). 1gb RAM is fine.

geogecko, is that a problem in the SageMC version of the Movie Times import, or are you not using that import here?
I do need to update the movie player and a config page color problem when used with the iTV theme. Probably tonight for that.

I had major problems trying to update the movietimes config using SageMC. That's using the MC version of the plugin too, which I've been able to use successfully before. All kinds of weird things were happening (6.13a).

I just manually edited the config file to get it working, which is fine unless/until I decide to change my theaters or something. Did the issue ever get fixed where the theaters aren't being limitied correctly/showing up in the preferred order?

Morgan.

I'm using MovieTimes STV Import for SageMC v0.57.

This is what I'm talking about:

I'll try the HD480 setting (which I assume is better than the 'High' setting).
My TV does not support 780 so its 1080 or 480....waaaaa...

Either way... even the High setting is insanely crisp and clear so I'm not complaining...but you know you always want to tweak it till it breaks...

Your tv doesn't support 720 (not 780)? Or it's native resolution is 1080? Because *almost* all 1080 sets can also display 720, they just convert to 1080 to display. Either way though, it doesn't really even matter, because the resolution of the file is not the resolution that your tv is receiving - the tv is receiving whatever resolution your computer is set to output. So you should still be able to playback a 720p file.

Are you just loading that on top of flachbar's 6.12a or 6.2?
I tried importing it to both and get this:

And what are you doing using that sharp theme instead of that other one

I think the question is what are you doing using that sharp theme instead of that other one?

Detail

Has anyone noticed that when returning from viewing a trailer that the text of the movie detail (Plot Summary, Actor Detail, etc) does not redraw on screen? (but not every time, 8 out of 10)
It returns and the box border that the text was in has snapped over to left and is now tall, narrow and rectangular....

Be sure to delete the HD1080 trailer files first before changing the setting or else it will only download NEW trailers using whatever new quality setting you set - leaving the HD1080 trailers there. mtsa will not redownload any trailer if it's already downloaded. (This doesn't apply to streaming, but I didn't bother to put in any streaming HD support )

I just tried the 1080p trailers. My 3.2GHz PC still doesnt seem fast enough to play these videos at full framerate. I can play 1080p WMV videos comfortably. I guess apple 1080p videos take up signiicantly more CPU power for the same resolution.
