Remote in placeshifter?
Ok, another wall I'm running into right now is with my remote.
I've read about the various remotes, and decided on the MCE remote for various reasons. So, is there a way to run the sage placeshifter v5.02 with a MCE remote? Does placeshifter not have remote functions? I have looked up how to connect it to the regular sagetv installation, and didn't know how best to do it with placeshifter. Is the HIP a better way to do it? thanks, |

The Placeshifter client can't control a remote directly at this time, so you would have to use some other software, such as Girder or HIP, to control the remote & send keystrokes to the Placeshifter window. You have to use keystrokes because you cannot use the command event codes via Windows messaging w/the PS client.

thanks for the help.
I've done some more reading tonight and decided to try HIP to get the mce remote to work. I was wondering if anyone had a config file they could send me or show where to download to get sage placeshifter to work with the mce remote via HIP. I have used girder in the past but it was always a pain. I'd rather not have to learn one more program if possible. But modifying a config file a bit is probalby doable. thank,s |
