Camping with STV?
Here's the deal...During the summer, I spend alot of time in my home away from home, in a 30ft camper/travel trailer (hotel on wheels). Say I'm recording the shows I want to watch on my STV server that is located in my den, moving the files over to an USB drive, and now would like to watch the shows on my STV in the camper. Which solution should I go with...another STV Server with the USB drive? Does the client version have the ability to read the USB drive? Any ideas? Keep in mind, the WSF (wife satisfaction factor) is at risk with my geekiness and camping.

That's an interesting problem. So you're taking a laptop with you then? Most any front end (free) or media playback software would be good enough because you won't be able to transfer the watched statuses back to the server anyway (unless you actually brought the server; but then it can't be home recording stuff).....If you simply used another server licence on another pc, you could use your latest wiz.bin, but you'd then be stuck with 2 different ones. However you bring up a good reason for that functionality to exist; there is no way to merge the data from 2 servers that I know of.

Ben, Thanks for the reply.
Yes, my notebook could be used, but I'm actually thinking of my Office SageTV Linux box, now that I've got PlaceShifter running on my notebook. The camper I have has a space big enough in the Ent. Center for a VCR, DVR, or a MCE box. I belong to a camping club that has around 75 families in it, and most of the guys have heard me taking about STV in the past and have lusted. Some campgrounds have cable and I'm working on putting DirecTV in my camper, so the technology is out there to do this. Maybe it could something that SageTV could look into. I'd buy it!
