How in the world can I get this remote to work properly?

Hello everyone. I have a Cyberlink remote that came with my Powercolor Theater 550 Pro tuner card. The basic functions work natively in Sage but that's it. I got the trial of Girder and tried to set that up but it, too, only recognizes the basic buttons on the remote, and it actually thinks they're keyboard commands. It seems as if I don't have the proper plugin to allow Girder to set this up properly?

Is this possible to do at all?

Thanks.

I tried Girdir and gave up and got HIP which is great and I love it. It's either free or shareware, can't recall but it works in all my applications and was very easy to setup. Oh - I use HIP with the USB-UIRT so I can use any remote. I'm currently using my DirecTV remote with 3 programs (Sage, NeroShowTime and Mame Arcade games).

I will give that program a try. What is USB-UIRT exactly? I have an IR receiver that is USB, is that what that is?

Thanks.

Thanks. It seems, however, that regardless of whether I use HIP or Girder, I need to know what kind of device I'm using first. I need to know this for HIP before I even install it. Either HID, USB-UIRT, Ira, etc., there's so many options. I'm not sure what I have. It's the Cyberlink IR remote that came with my Powercolor Theater 550 Pro card. The receiver is just a small generic USB box, not an IRMan or anything like that. So what type do I need to choose?

Try posting this question on the forums for HIP. I don't have a clue but someone there might know the answer to your question. They are very helpful there as well.

The cyberlink USB Remote receiver is an HID device... It works with the "HID Remote" plugin in Girder... HIP has a similar plugin...

Okay, so I selected the HID .dll in HIP as the input device. However when I do that it says "Error starting interface to HID, An error occurred while starting the Interface."

The receiver is plugged in and shows up in Device Manager, and obviously does work since the basic remote functions work okay.

Any ideas?
