Newbie ? for IR blaster and SAGE

I've had SageTV for awhile working great with my non-IR Hauppage card. I uninstalled that card and installed a WinTV Go Plus card (Hauppage) with the IR blaster and remote etc... Reason for doing this was to use a digital cable box to enable all the channels I have. I am trying to follow the directions but am unable to get Sage to control the cable box (A Moto DCT2224-Charter Cable)
Sage sees the remote inputs (it says it is changing the channels) but the channels are not actually changing. When I change the channels using the mouse and the program guide it again says I am changing them, but nothing is going into the box. I can get the channels to change with remote just using the generic Win2000 program.
I downloaded the irremote.ini file found on these boards (for the 45 button) and there is no change. I did fix the path entry for the green button command to launch Sage to point to my install, but I get a ERROR: C:\Program when I press the green button.
Bottom line is I don't really care if the remote works or not for Sage but I need it change the channel to record stuff for me. That was the main focus in getting the other card and another digital box.
Using Sage v4.1.3.67
Windows XP Pro (all SPs)
Hauppage WinTV Go-Plus w/45 button remote

One additional note: I am now also having a delay on audio within Sage with this new card. On my old card (a Hauppage PVR150) I used the audio coming in the tuner connection and this new card uses a pass through audio cable to my line in...but like I said it has a delay. When using the WinTV2000 program that came with card I do not have any delay. Something in the quality settings doing this?

Any help is MUCH appreciated!

For the irremote.ini file, you can't have any spaces for the path to the program to be run. Make sure to use the short filename version of "Program Files".

For the Hauppauge IR blaster: if you are running in service mode, try using non-service mode.

For sound: the audio may be bypassing the software encoder & being played live, while the video is going through an encoding/decoding process.

I would go back to the 150, since it has a hardware encoder -- that will use much less cpu power to record somethign & the picture quality will be better. If you just bought the software encoder for the IR blaster, I woudl consider returning it & getting a USB-UIRT instead. I don't know whether there is any form of serial control for that box.

I have a DCT2224 box from RCN Cable and couldn't get the IR Blaster to work initially. The blaster led itself would blink, but the IR receive led on the DCT would not blink (it does when you use the remote control of the cable box).

Anyway, I found out that the IR led of the Hauppauge IR Blaster (PVR-150) is not bright enough to control the box. I took the led housing apart and taped the led to the box (with the top facing the DCT2224, so the leads are sticking into the living room ) and that made it work. I intend to attach a different IR led to it later.

Don't know if this is your problem, but I have seen messages from others on the web about difficulty with DCT2224's and Hauppauge IR blasters.

Andy, you are my new hero!

I fought with the Hauppauge IR blaster all day in service mode. Finally found this, ran it in non-service mode VOLIA!

Just have to limp along like this until the USB gizmo gets here. Thanks to TweakUI my sage user logs in automagically now and everything runs smoothly.

Edit: Sorry about that, I had an id10t error while setting up my system. I didnt realise I had to have the blaster fully configured before installing Sage.
