confused by the frq file

hi, i'm using the trial at the moment with a few days left. I already had a NOVA-T usb2 which i use so thought i'd try with that.
Sage reconises my card and created a blank frq file which i tried to populate manually without any success. I then tried letting sage scan for channels which it did and it found a few channels and populated the frq file.
I can now watch a few channels but not all, but thought i could just populate the rest of the fields with the relevant data.
It doesn't seem to matter what i put into the frq file it doesn't seem to notice that the file has changed.
Any ideas anyone, i really like the software otherwise but if i can't get this to work i may have to not buy it.
Attached is my frq file. An example of what i am seeing is that bbc is still on channel 9 and channel 1 even though its only listed in the frq as channel 1. I also see additional channels in sage that are not listed in the frq.

I think i've sorted it. The service had crashed and it was running without. Still don't get how it makes a difference when both ways run with the same frq file but never mind its working now.
