SendMessage in PlaceShifter?

Is there a way to use SendMessage in Placeshifter? If not, is this planned? I would like to use an ATI Remote Wonder without having to use Girder.

The Placeshifter responds to mouse & keyboard input, but not event code messages for commands. It might be possible to simulate keyboard input via messages, but I'm not sure how well that works.

Too bad...the greatest thing about the event messages are that you don't need focus. I can be sitting in my hotel room with my laptop screen extended with the extension Svideo out to a TV....and be working on the primary screen. The remote would work no matter what I'm working on....weather I or my wife is using the remote.
