Extender not starting SAGETV Screen (new user)
I just installed the wireless SageTV MVP. I have it enabled on SageTV. But when it starts, it goes the the Hauppauage screen (videos, pictures, etc...). I do not see a Hauppauge MVP application running. But I do see the following HP MVP Processes running... DGLsvcmain, mvpmedia, hcwsms, mvpstart. All have the .exe extension. Should I turn one or more of these off and how can I prevent them from starting up automatically each time? Thanks.

I can't say how to stop the Hauppauge MVP software from running, but I can say that you will have to stop all of it or else there is a good chance that your MVP won't be able to connect to SageTV, as you are seeing. If nothing else, you could always simply uninstall the Hauppuage MVP software.

If you do not plan on using the hauppauge software on your computer to host files for the MVP, there us no need to even have it installed. hauppauges software is not needed to run the MVP in a sagetv setup.
if you want to keep it installed, just go to the services control panel and disable those services. I would tell you exactly what they are called, but I do not have them installed anymore. |
