License key backup

Hi, I need to do a format and reninstall, I have misplaced my Sage license key, are there any files I can backup so that I will not loose the registration on a reinstall. Thanks.

The license can not be reported from SageTV & is not visibly stored anywhere.

If you have your original email, just print it out. If you don't have it anywhere, then contact SageTV support with your purchase details & they will resend it to you. In the meantime, a fresh install on a new system will still work in trial mode until you get the license again.

After you get it from SageTV support, be sure to print that email. I had to request twice before figuring that out

I save mine to all my drives in my HTPC, one copy on each of my USB keys, and have it backed up on CD in my fireproof box at work . Paranoid? No, just lost too many keys in the past .

Can Sage support still help me out if I purchased the key through PC Alchemy?

Not sure, but your best bet would be to contact PC Alchemy to get a copy of it. They've commented before that they keep those records.

Yeah just login on pcalchemy's site and go to your past purchases. You will be able to find the key in there.
