Here are a couple more genre icons to check out. I tweaked the Action/Adventure icon slightly. I still haven't had a chance to test these in SageMC. Hopefully I'll get to do that soon.
And Kirby, my birthday is on the 11th. Aloha, Mike

I'd remove some of the leading between action and adventure. There is quite a gap there between them.

Is the first picture in the action adventure from one of the Die Hard's? If so, awesome

Anyone want to try to guess what movies all of the other pictures in the icons are from? Aloha, Mike

I dont do romance movies, but the other actions are Kill Bill and Indiana Jones right? And Sci Fi are Aliens, Star Wars and 2001?

All correct so far.
"HE DIDN'T FALL? INCONCEIVABLE!" "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

BTW Mike, these look fabulous. I will install as soon as they are ready. Thanks again for all your great work. The first Romance Pic is Bogey and Hepburn in "The African Queen." The second is too dark for me to make out. The third is, of course, Robin Wright and Carey Elwes in "The Princess Bride." If you tell me who the actors are in the second one I can probably guess it too..... Jesse Last edited by Jesse; 08-31-2006 at 03:10 PM. |

Question on the guide bars.
Animation doesnt seem to work for me. I looked into something such as the simpsons which is listed as animation/sitcom, family guy animation/comedy that sort of thing. they don't seem to light for animation. What woudl I have to rename the buttons images to in order to get these combinations to go light up for the animations? The "/" throws me off.

Looking at the screenshot for the icons, almost makes me wish that we could do away with the text names altogether, and just have larger genre icons with more pretty pictures of course! Just seems redundant to have it say "Action" in text, and then have it again in the icon?
So is that possible? To just make that whole area a large icon? Icons look great by the way! To illustrate what I mean, here is a rough hack up of my idea (its not pretty! had to scale the image down 61% vertically to fit):

Of course the potential here is too cool, so I don't mind redoing the icons so they scale better. The only thing I see as a potential problem is 4:3 and 16:9 displays will stretch the image differently. We'll have to see how that plays out. We just have to ask our benevolent dictator (Dirk) to implement the change once we figure out the best way to do it. Great idea Kirby! Aloha, Mike

Or, of course, you could have two zip files embedded in the downloaded zip file, one for 4x3, the other for 16x9, since you've accomplished so much with that method already!
