Video Signal has disappeared
Hello,
I had been running SageTV V5.02 for some time - the only occasional issue was the video image reverting to black and white. Simple reboot fixed the problem and it was not irritating enough for me to fix. But now I come home today and turn my pc on and I am greeted with a black screen when I try to watch tv. Recorded shows work play fine, I just cant see the live tv singal. Live audio works, and switches with channel changes so I know my UIRT is working and my DirecTV box is still working. Connection from my DirecTV box is via S-Video cable into Hauppague board, the WinTV PVR-350. Video card is an Nvidia 7800 GTX. Since this issue began earlier today I upgraded my Nvidia drivers from 85.xx to the lastest 91.xx and also upgraded from SageTV v5.02 to v5.04. No change in behavior. Anyone have any ideas? Mark |

Solutions?
Me too. Recorded shows play just fine. When changing channels, the channel info at the bottom of the screen shows up fine. Only the actual video itself does not show up. Any thoughts?
Audio works fine. Changing channels does get the correct audio for the channel. I have reinstalled SageTV (did not remove first, just reinstalled). I have reinstalled video drivers. (geforce 6150) Last edited by oba01; 07-11-2006 at 01:15 AM. Reason: adding info |

Update -
Switching the S-Video cable brought the image back. Odd scenario given that it was a very nice cable and it worked fine for more than three months. Do S-Video cables typically just stop working? For now my tv is back! |

I was going to suggest S-video cable. I had a problem with mine early on too.
