Sluggish menus on MVP
Hi,
I have just set up my first MVP, and although the initial boot up and watching video seem to work fine, I've found the Sage menus to be very sluggish. It can take anything up to 30 seconds for a simple down-arrow keypress on the remote to be actioned on screen. Selecting menus also can take up to 30-40 seconds to appear. The length of time is varies quite a lot on each keypress, but is almost always above 6 secs. However, once I've got through the menus and got a video displaying, the video output seems OK (though I haven't tested this extensively as yet). I did try the recommended registry changes from the Hauppauge site, but these made no difference. I'm using a wired European MVP version D3A. The server is a dedicated Sage server with AMD 64 X2 4400+ processor and 2GB RAM and tons of free disk space. Whether or not it's recording seems to make no difference to the MVP response. I am running Sage 5.04. My network is 100MB, though I think the MVP is connecting to the switch at 10MB. There isn't much traffic on the network, and the server CPU doesn't seem to be particularly stressed. Has anyone else seen this problem (and maybe got a fix!)...? Thanks for any suggestions as to how I can fix this. Cheers, Ben |
