How do I get Canadian broadcast TV listings?
Hello. I posted in the "Integrated Free Canadian Listings" thread but I think there's too much there so I'm trying here.
From my antenna I get one channel, City TV, on channel 31. Until I get satellite TV set up, I'd like to use my SageTV PVR to record stuff off City TV However, I can't figure out how to get City TV listings! If anyone can help me out with this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, - Andrew. |

I think the listing service only covers the channels as they are delivered through a cable provider. This is why Sage asks you who your provider is and what your postal code is.
Even if the antennae was hooked into the coax on the PVR card, the scanned and found channels wouldn't correspond to any EPG listings. So I think you may have to wait for your dish to show up.

Thanks a lot for the response, even though it's bad news. I'm just surprised since Zap2It has Canadian broadcast listings, and SageTV has US broadcast listings from the US. So why not Canadian listings? Oh well it's not the end of the world I guess. I'll just have to buy that IR blaster sooner...

Sage has Canadian broadcast listings, they just have them for canadian cable providers, not OTA listings. As I said, you should be able to watch and record as live TV with the antannae, but EPG data may be a problem. Good luck.

Thanks. Yes I can watch and change channels. I just wanted EPG data for City TV. It's no big deal though - I'll order an IR blaster tomorrow likely for our new satellite service.

why don't you set it to cable basic and just remap?
I may be wrong but why don't you
1. Select Rogers Basic 2. Remap and deselect the channels you don't get OTA That way you basically "make" yourself an OTA lineup? -Alex |

I tried to remap a Rogers Basic channel guide and it sure messed things up. Luckily I made a backup before I did any of this. Anyway, I wasn't successful and would recommend making a backup of your configuration before trying this.
