Can I use my Windows Product Key to install Linux?
I wanted to try the Linux version to see if it is more stable on my system - I did the install, but it won't take my (Windows) product key.
I guess it's safe to assume that the license is different? Damn.... I was so close to getting it installed to try out... Thanks for any info. |

I see.... I was just hoping it worked because I wanted to see if the drivers were more stable - I have been having issues with losing my IR and a USB/2 tuner once it a while. I am fairly stable at version 3.0.7, but it if upgrade to 4.x or 5.x I have major driver issues with the USB/2 - I just wanted to see if the Linux environment would let me enjoy Sage more.
I installed Gentoo, and got to the point of Sage asking for the the key, so I tried my Windows key and it did not work, so I figured I would post here and verify it that was in fact the case... Thanks! |
