XP and SageTV Service question...

This may be a stupid question but does the SageTV service startup when a user logs into their user account or does it start up once the login screen appears?

Actually, all services are started before the login screen appears. The point of using a service is that it starts when windows starts and that it is independent of the user that logs in on the computer.

Make sure you also enable Service Recovery (not enabled by default). If the service stops, Windows can automatically attempt to restart the service.

I actually went into Services (Control panel, admin tools) and set my sagetv service to attempt restart on 1st and 2nd failure and reboot pc on 3rd failure. Failures are set to reset every 24 hours (a feature you can set as well).

If you don't want to do all that, simply open up SageTV Services and check the Service Recovery Button.
