Just wondering what filters people here are using.

I threw in my votes for Sonic and Elecard since I'm currently going back and forth between them.

Power DVD 5.0 (with hardware encoding on) for TV and sonic for DVD (because i have a slight issue with power DVD 5.0 w/ hardware encoding, my epia system, and playing DVDs but not with playing normal files...)

Who voted for "Other"... are those NVDVD votes? Dan, could you add NVDVD to the poll?

From the listed "filters"... does it really mean which "decoder" is being used in the detailed setup? In that case, "other" could easily be hardware -- Hauppauge 350 or xcard. Or am I missing something?

Yup, my intention was to figure out which filters/decoders people are using, so yes other would include hardware output.

I started this because I'm kind of partial to Sonic's filters, got them for DVD playback but there are a few issues with them so I'm currious which if any decoders are prefered here.

I like the Elecard because of the DScaper support and the price. Other than the free Hauppauge Intervideo codecs, I think it is the cheapest out there.

Somtimes I switch to the Hauppauge Intervideo codecs but it is a little blocky for my taste. But that is cause I enabled hardware asssist. Witout the registry settings I think they look pretty similar before deinterlace.

I have yet to get the Cyberlinks to work. The video is super choppy. Don't know why. Tried version 3, 4, and 5.

Odd. I've found the cyberlinks to be the best for me. Are you viewing on a TV or your computer monitor? I just use sage to watch tv in my office on my 19" flat screen KDS Avitron.

I watch on a TV. For some reason Cyberlink just does not work for me with Sage (on two PC's Server and client). No biggie though, without DScaler I would not keep it I was just curious.

ive tried the one that comes with powerdvdxp 4 and it looks good, but it always freezes my computer, especially when i fastforward or rewind.

Currently I'm using the ones from powerdvd 5. I also used powerdvd 4 for awhile and those worked well too.
