Can't tune TBS 247 on Direct TV via serial, all other channels work.

Hi all,

I have a directTV RCA-DRD430RG STB hooked into a PVR-250 tuned via serial cable.

Everything works great except I can't tune channel 247 (TBS) via sage. All other channels tune fine.

Tuning 247 with the STB remote (outside of sagetv) works fine.

When I try to tune 247 through sage, the reciever tunes to channel 24

Once this happens it gets royally screwed up and no channels get tuned properly on the STB from sage. It like a digit gets carried forward from the last channel change.

So the end result is if sage attempts to record anything on 247 TBS all recordings from the directTV source are junk until the STB is reset manually.

as a temp fix I've erased the channel from setup

After you added 247 to your channel lineup, did you restart the sage service? I almost missed Rescue Me last night becuase I accidentially removed 248 from my lineup and couldn't get it back until I closed the sage services and restarted sage (D10 serial controled). Then it tuned fine.

Not sure if this is correct functionality, but it sounds similar to what you are seeing.

I've noticed it takes a while for the guide to update after channels are changed. My services has been restarted many time over the past months and the problem is always there tuning this particular channel.

I'm not sure when or how often SageTV updates the EPG or if it does so at startup, but if you install nielm's webserver plugin, you can force it to update the EPG.
