The Placeshifter client is a separate product compared to SageTVClient and uses a different license. If you have SageTVClient installed, you want to download & install its update also.
Placeshifter allows you to remotely connect to your SageTV server so you can use the full SageTV interface & play media while away from home. There are a few discussions on the difference between the Placeshifter client & SageTVClient in this Placeshifter section of the forum. - Andy
