Prevent Deleting Files in Media Library

I tried setting the attributes in Windows to Read Only but Sage still will delete them. Is there a way I can prevent Sage from deleting the files in the media library?

Thanks,
Mike

What do you mean "media library" the imported videos? Sage doesn't delete from there, nor from the archived section. If you're talking your recordings, then you can either set them as manual recorings, or archive them.

If you mean the imported videos, you can disable manual file deletion by setting the option for that -- see the Options dialog at the bottom of p. 91 of the v5.0 manual (for the Video Library).

The problem with that is that it's not very secure. All someone has to do from the video library is hit options and then allow it. I was kind of looking for something buried outside of the options dialog like in Setup.

Also - is there any way to create a password to enter setup or certain places in Sage (I use the Nielm's Dynamic menu)?

Thanks again for all the help.

First turn the option off then open Studio. Go to the "Video Library Folder View" menu. Then open the options Listener. Under that you will see the Options menu "VideoLibOptions". Open that and find the panel "DeleteAllowed". Expand Children. Then select that panel and the children displayed and delete them. Now you will not be able to change the option back because it will not be present in the STV. You will need to do this at every upgrade however. And you could still edit your properties file manually to turn it back on.
