OT: Mup.sys errors
Totally unrelated to Sage, other than its happening on my Sage server machine, I have MUP.SYS errors on my server. Anyone know whats up with this? Its the Multiple UNC Provider service for Windows. Sometimes my machine will boot fine, sometimes it will hang when loading this file.
Internet searches for this problem are ALL over the place with nobody really knowing how to correct this. Some people claim adding/removing hardware will fix it, others say to wipe the pagefile.sys, others say to re-expand mup.sy_ from the install CD. I dont have multiple client networking types installed on my machine, just the standard Client for Microsoft Networks, static IP and routing. I re expanded the original file form the install CD which helped for a while, but then I had more lockups later. I'm at my wits end. The only possible thing I can think of that caused this was that I installed (and subsequently removed) a NFS software client on the sage server machine. Out of the hundreds of PC's I built and or purchased and installed OS's on, I have never encounted an issue with MUP.SYS. Another thought I had on it was that it was related to my new server hardware (Dell E310) because it uses USB keyboard and mouse, and I removed those because they arent needed (I access the machine via VNC). But even having them plugged in didnt fix the issue. If you have ideas, I would love to hear them! Thanks!
