High CPU usage when recording

When recording 3 shows simultaneously I noticed via the CPU monitoring tool that comes with the IMon software that the CPU usage was 57%. I know it shouldnt be that high. Can any suggest anny reasons for the high CPU usage? I'm running Sage 5.04 on a 3.2ghz Pentium 4 with 1 gig of memory under XP Home SP 2. The capture cards are three Hauppauge PVR-250s and the video card is a ATI 9800 Pro. I'm using the Nvidia DVD drivers that come with Theatertek for display. The shows are being stored on a 200 gig drive formatted with 64k blocks.

Do you have any antivirus programs running & scanning the recording dirs? I think it is more of an issue during playback, so it probably isn't the cause here, but it is a good idea to exclude the recording dirs from any automatic scans.
