Port 31099 and firewall
I am running the Placeshifter on a local client and told the OneCare firewall to allow SageTV. I am able to connect and view all the menus but get errors in video playback when trying to watch anything. If I turn the firewall off I can view both the menus and video. This makes me think that either Placeshifter is using more than just port 31099 or that the OneCare firewall is crap.

Does that firewall have a way to show what ports it has blocked?
Make sure you clear #31100 also. But, for the video playback error, try opening 7818 to see what happens. - Andy

OK, opened 31100 and 7818 but still no video if the Firewall is on. The Firewll is the one that comes with the new MS Live OneCare protection suite. It is basically the XP firewall upgraded to two-way protection. I'm thinking there is a bug in it so have turned it off for now. Has anyone else installed the OneCare suite? Can you confirm these results?
