sudipto the Philips chip turn digital bits back in to analog signel as for MPEG decoding that done by CX23415 (iTVC15) chip which then pass the digital bit the Philips chip.

And here are the official product specs for Conexant 23415 and 23416, if anyone cares to read more about these
