SageTvTranscoder.exe - Priority

I have an issue when watching "Imported Videos" Divx, Xvid and Mpg. They all play, except they stutter. I noticed will trying to t-shoot that the stuttering is in sync with the SageTvTranscoder.exe maxing out the CPU. I noticed that the thread priority is set to "below normal" and when trying to set it higher I can't since it's in-use. I am not sure if this is the problem or the codec it is using. How do you change codecs for the AVI file's? The only files that play stutter free are the onse recorded by sage.

I am using an MVP to watch these videos. In trouble shooting I tried GB-PVR with the same hardware and videos and the videos work fine - stutter free.

Asus MB w/P4 2.4 w/512 - WIN2003 server - sage running as service. Sage 5.0.4 - Java 1.4.2.11 MVP - H3 lot 2706. nVidia PureVideo decoder.

Thanks,
Skyolt

I noticed the samething with heavy processing...like from PAL to NTSC vob files. NTSC vob files work fine with plenty of buffer, but if any other shows are recording or Showanalyzer is running, PAL vob files are too much for my Athlon XP 2500. Using Process Explorer from sysinternals.com I set the SageTvTranscoder.exe to 'normal' thread priority and the stutter went away. I'm not sure how to set SageTvTranscoder.exe to automatically set to 'normal' priority....but I wish I could.

Check out this tool. It lets you save the desired priority for each process.
