Problem playing back MPEG2 files on another machine

I've been a very satisfied Sage user for the past few months. I recently ran out of disk space on my Sage machine (120GB) and decided it was time to buy a DVD burner.

I installed the DVD burner on another machine and copied some of the recordings to this machine. Unfortunately while most of the recordings can be viewed & burned just fine there are a few that play with no audio or at a really slow pace (video real slow & garbled audio) ...

All of these recordings play back perfectly on my Sage box.

Is this some sort of codec problem? Any help would be appreciated ...

The DVD Burner in question is a retail boxed Pioneer A06 ... I'm trying to use the software that came with it ... Ulead MovieFactory 2

Thanks,

Victor Tavernini

I noticed the same thing. i think it was some of the older recordings that were messed up, perhaps recorded with a beta version of 1.4???

They played back fine on sage machine, but on my "authoring" machine audio was slooooooooooowww

Unhappy Bump

I am having this same problem......i have been burning some files to DVD with no problem.

then tonight a program i recorded plays back VERY slow (audio and video) on any program except Sage.

I was trying to edit the mpeg file and noticed the problem, same result using media player or real player.

Any help appreciated......

Hmmm...

Think I might have figured this out...... The recording in question was approx 4.5 GB (largest I have tried to edit or play outside Sage so far)

Long story short, edited about 1 hr off this 3 hr recording and the problem was fixed.

Anyone else come across this? Is it a limitation with other programs and not Sage.

just curious.
