No Data - Program Guide won't update

Updaing has been mostly fine for over a month. Now, as of the last 4 days, the program guide won't update and I am to where there is no data on just about every channel.
I have read the FAQ and have attempted triggering manual updates but nothing happends or I get the Having trouble...internet not connected...wrong zip code message when I know I'm connected and the zip is right.
Any ideas as to why it is stopping now?

Also, I have dialup. Auto dialup has always been enabled. How does this work anyway? Do I have to have a dialup client configured (which I do, but I always have to tell it to dial.)? Does Sage have its own client that will autodial when it needs to and I don't have the connection up?

Thanks for any help,
Marty

From what I've seen support say in the past:
Quote:
Close down SageTV and the service and open up your Sage.properties file. Try removing all the properties from the that file that have the string
'server_update_id' in them . Now run SageTV again.

If that doesn't work try removing all your sources and then create a new
source, but choose a different provider. Let that update and now go back and
remove that source and choose your original source.
If that doesn't work, you could turn on debug logging (in the FAQs) to see what errors is says there when it tries to update the EPG. Send the results to tech support.

Thanks, I finally found that post.

After my failed attempts last night, this morning it's all updated. It didn't happen when I was working with it.

Have no idea what I did that made it work.

Still would like to know more about how the autodial works. Is this a question for tech support?

Thanks,
Marty

Unless someone else uses autodial & comments, I would ask support. I haven't had a phone line connected to any computer since getting a cable modem when they first came out in my area many many moons ago.

This should be included in the FAQ. I never had problems with the EPG data, but yesterday all of a sudden 75% of my channels showed no data. Server restart and manual EPG update did not help. After spending time here in the forum I finally found this post, and deleting the 'server_update_id' properties did the trick.

had to do the same thing. so far it's added about 20hrs more data to the guide. still not up to the full 14days we're supposed to get, but it might still be processing the last 24hrs of data.

I have had a similar problem, turns out (I think) it was due to Time Warner buying my cable provider. The name changed! Removing and re-adding the source with the new name might fix it.

Had to do the same thing here....never happened before. I just deleted sources, setup another random source, deleted that and resetup my original sources. worked fine.

Andy,
I had the same problem. When I shut off my virus program everything worked fine. Perhaps it might work for you.
