Help with D11-500

I'm using the directv.pl script from MythTV and exetuner to run my Directv D11 box, but I have one problem. Every time the computer reboots I have to use a comport toolkit to initialize the serial port before it will work. Can anybody think of a way to initialize the serial port from the command line?
