USB-UIRT woes
My Setup :
SageTV 5.0.4 PVR500 BellExpressVU 3100 STB USB-UIRT MVP I have may STB Receiever connected via composite to the 500. In SageTV, I configured my source to be a Bell ExpressVu Source using USB-UIRT as the tunner. Using my STB remote, I taught 0 thru 9 and I taught it Select button (my STB requires that Select be picked after picking the channel). I then configured the USBUIRT options to append a select at the end of selecting a channel. Rebooted.. here is what happens When I select watch live TV, the channel that is selected on the STB is displayed via MVP (cool). If I use my remote for the STB and point it to the STB, it changes the live TV channels. problem is that the STB and Sage Server are in an entire different room then my TV, which is why I have the MVP attached to my TV instead. When I try and use the remote for the MVP to change channels, I thought it would send a signal to Sage to send a signal to the UIRT to change the channel on the STB, but it does not work. Are there known problems with this setup? Please help! |

Just an update. When I go into the setup menu and use the option to test the codes and I am given 0-9 and the select options, as I click each one, the light DOES come on the UIRT, and if I point the UIRT at the STB as I test the buttons, it DOES change channels. What I am having trouble doing is using my MVP remote which is controlling my MVP attached to my TV in a different room, to tell the Sage Server to tell the UIRT to tell the STB to change the channel.
I got a buddy of mine to choose watch live tv in the other room, and at the same time, to keep pressing numbers on the MVP remote to the MVP. Back at the server I would have suspected that I would have seens the UIRT flicker like it did when I chose the testing option from the server enu, but it never flickers and the channels never changed ![]() Thoughts? |

Go into Detailed Setup in Sage on your MVP and change the remote you're using from the USB-UIRT to the Hauppague 45 button or whichever it is and try it again.

You're watching live TV on the MVP while trying to do this? What happens when you use the Channel Up/Down buttons on the MVP remote? While trying to enter a channel number, it won't try to change the channel until the entire channel number has been entered and/or you've pressed OK to accept the new channel number.

BTW: unless you are using the wrong STV (or maybe an older STV?), you can't even change what remote is used as the receiver for the MVP.
![]() Have you tried watching & changing channels on the server's UI? If it works to test sending IR codes from Source Details, but not when watching TV... are you sure you've associated the USB-UIRT with the correct source during source setup? - Andy

![]() I suggest doing all hardware configuration via the default STV. - Andy

![]() First step in Sage troubleshooting: Always go back to the defaukt STV before declaring an "issue". Gerry

Just to let everyone know...
It is working now. All I needed to do was to add the RepeatCount 5 in the IR file and I was off to the races!. Thanks again for everyone's help! |
