Vista support

Hi,

I don't know if the question has been asked yet but some days before the release of the Beta, I'd like to have some informations about the support of Windows Vista.

Will SageTV run on Vista32 (and 64????). Most probably, Java will also need some adaptations.

Regards

Ferdinand

As far as I know it will, I think you might need to use the beta Java 1.6 though.

Sage 5.0.4 runs just fine in Vista x86. I am using it on RC1, and havent had any issues related to being on Vista, and I have used both JRE 1.4.2_11 and JRE 1.6.0b99.

I havent tried the x64 version though, simply because 32bit works so well.

If you use the enhanced gui of Vista, with the transparent windows, and dont use VMR9 on Sage, it will kick you out of the enhanced Vista GUI and then reset after you stop Sage.

I installed placeshifter on Vista RC1 build 5600 and have the following error:
"This application failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found
Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

Then
"Could not find jvm.dll
please install JRE 1.4"

I reinstalled Placeshifter, java 1.4, 1.5 even the beta without success.

Any idea?

Thanks

Ferdinand

Don't get that error with the 6.0.11 beta placeshifter client, but you still get no video. Everything else works though, and audio plays. At least it's getting closer to working.

I solve the problem by copying the file to the Windows\system directory.

But I do not have picture with placeshifter.
SageClient is working but stuttering...
